2021-2022

2021/2022 | MINDFULNESS BREAKS

TINT and Enter the Now are hosting weekly guided meditations so you can start, explore or deepen your mindfulness skills within a lively community.

Join us for a 15-20 minute meditation session during lunchtime (12:40-13:20) to inspire you for a productive study time and a life focused on the present moment. Afterward, there is plenty of time to share and connect within the group.

Meditation is a way of becoming aware of what’s alive inside of yourself. By meditating regularly, you will develop a stronger connection with yourself, others, and life. This connection can help you with finding more calmness in your days, increasing focus on what you’re doing, coping with stress, and building resilience.

08|06|2022 Open Stories

Sharing stories is how we connect as humans. Learning more about someone and their story enables us to understand them on a different level, inspires us to change, or takes us to places, situations and emotions that we have never imagined before... And we love that!!!

The 2nd Edition of “Open Stories” will be an evening to celebrate Pride Month and to inspire the Eindhoven student community to take more time to listen to the real stories around us.

For that, TU/e & Fontys organizations joined forces to find captivating storytellers from our community, who are ready to share their life stories with you in an intimate conversation. You can expect diverse stories from LGBTQ+, international experiences, and mental health, amidst other topics. All heartening, raw and honest stories that will broaden your horizons.

18|05|2022 Show Yourself to the World

Reflect on your personal traits and find more comfort in your own shoes guided by life coach Margit van Tuijl.

It's interesting how much effort we usually put into showing a perfect image of ourselves to the world. At the same time it takes a lot of energy to push those elements of ourselves away that we'd rather like to hide. While giving space to being yourself brings 'space to breath', pleasure, relaxation and in the end it also makes you stronger.
This workshop is a more elaborate version of the show yourself to the world workshop offered during the celebration of women in science 2022, read the review below.

11|05|2022 FOMO Workshop

Do you often feel that most people are having a better time in uni than you? More parties? Adventures? Flings? Travels? Friends?
Do you think that by the time you are 25, you should have done a bunch of stuff and time is not on your side?
Maybe then you might be feeling some FOMO: ‘Fear of missing out’!?

Is there a way to change these feelings around? Yes, there is!
And the life coaches Margit van Tuijl & Laura Curta are going to tell you their secret on how to do it.

Explore the reasons behind these thought processes, learn tools to deal with these feelings and create your mantra to balance your mind, heart and body with your present life!

Room for Peace initiatives

Due to the recent events in Ukraine, TINT decided to create a safe place where students that feel affected, directly or indirectly, by this conflict can share their stories, find comfort, and support in each other.
Tuesday March 28th and April 12th (both 19:00-20:30), it’s the evening where you can explore what you feel without being judged. You’ll have the space and you will be given the tools to lessen the weight of the world you live in today. These sessions are guided by TINT life coach Margit van Tuijl and Laura Curta.
On Friday April 8th (12:30-13:00), TINT life coach, Rachelle van Andel, will guide the group through the process of sharing, acknowledging, and processing the experiences, so you can deal with them in a way that works for you.
Next to that, every weekday (12:30-13:30) there will be a listening ear during lunchbreak.
The listening ear sessions are organized by Lara Hofstra and the CCP's (Student Confidentiality Contact persons)
For all sessions, no registration is needed and everything is free of charge.
Just come to the room for peace to find a place to breathe, to listen, to share and to find hope.

We offer:

1. Exposure Weekend (Jan. 28-30)

Visit "Survivors - Faces of Life after the Holocaust", follow lectures, watch documentaries, join in city walks and more

2. Museum Lab (Feb. 4-6)

Become creative with what you have learned during the exposure weekend

3. Performance during the closing event of 'Survivors: Faces of the Holocaust' (Feb. 13)

01|12|2021 Courage to Connect

Meet new people and listen to each other's personal stories, insights, and ideas. Every conversation will be  be a unique experience. After all, everyone has a special story to tell. All conversations are centered on a selected theme, and this year’s pick is: Courage to connect.

The conversations will be structured around the four steps of the ‘dialogue’ framework:

  • Getting to know each other
  • Sharing experiences
  • Dreaming
  • Doing.

You will participate in a conversation with a group of 4 participants (max.) under the guidance of a facilitator. You will experience what it means to listen carefully to the personal story of others and to be able to tell your story without being interrupted.

The event will begin at 7:30 PM and end at 10:00 PM at the latest. It takes place online.

This event is a joint initiative of TINT, Eindhoven in Dialoog and Studium Generale TU/e.

23|11|2021 Dealing with Perfectionism

Perfectionism. It can be a blessing but also a huge burden.

You may excel in your studies and/or other things you do, but often with quite some stress and anxiety. But, did you know that there are also other ways to handle perfectionism?

TINT & SVTN JD van der Waals joined forces to offer all Applied Physics Dept. students a workshop where you can learn to get your perfectionism under control.

Life coaches Margit van Tuijl and Laura Curta will help you understand what perfectionism is, where it comes from and how it influences your behaviour and thinking patterns.

13|10|2021 Love Lessons

As the first quartile of this academic year proceeds, TINT focuses its events on deeper and deeper connections. We started with making the first contact and making friends, but now it is time to focus on one of the most mythical and deep connections there is, love.

This event is perfect for all students who are interested to learn about love and the event will be insightful for any relationship status and sexual orientation.
The evening is filled with interesting theories offered by Love Doctor Inge van de Vorst and  TINT life coach Margit van Tuijl .
But there is also space to (anonymously) ask questions yourself and to practice with the verbs of love. What those verbs are, you will learn at the event!

05|10|2021 Open Storie

The event “Open Stories” is an evening to inspire our TU/e community to take more time to listen to the real stories around us.

This event is part of the TU/e Diversity Week 2021 in collaboration with TINT and Groep-één.

29|09-2021 First Connections

Friendships and a good social network are a big part of our lives, especially during University times. However, meeting new people can sometimes be a scary yet an exciting adventure.

For that reason, TINT & Cosmos join forces to bring you “First Connections”, a fun and insightful evening to meet other freshmen or the old wolves of Eindhoven in a different way.

The life coaches Margit van Tuijl and Laura Curta will share all about the art of connection-making.

Enjoy useful tips & tricks on how to start a conversation easily, even if you are a bit shy, and how to make your friendships more meaningful by building deeper connections with others.

17|09|2021 Mindfulness Sup Workshop

After the nice chaos of intro or coming back to University, TINT in collaboration with the SUP Coach, Paula van Loon, is giving you a break from all of that to reconnect with yourself in the middle of nature.

For about 2 hours, you can try out Stand Up Paddling with a small group of 7 people at the TU/e Dommel to enjoy the University from a new perspective.

The session starts with a set of instructions, then the group gets on the water (not in!) with a SUP board and after finding the physical balance with the standup paddling technique the participants are invited to also find the mental balance with mindfulness exercises.
